Pricing
In a confusing nutshell
While it would be wonderful if we could post a one-price-fits-all kind of profile on our website,
the truth of the matter is that it's a little more complicated than that.
Prices are calculated after we consider several factors.
These are general guidelines and there are no hidden or surprise fees. Once we quote your project it is in stone. The following will give you an approximate price range.
To start, we take a look at the price of the garment & the number of colors in the artwork.
A white, Gildan, 100% cotton, short sleeve, no pocket, t-shirt printed in one location, in one color, will be less costly than a burgundy Polo, printed pocket, sleeve and back locations, each logo printed in multiple colors.
We may also charge for a color change of the ink mid-run.
This charge covers the time it takes to switch from black ink to red or blue (or any other color)
If you decide you want 17 shirts printed with the same design, but 2 printed in green, 5 in orange,1 in silver, and the rest with black, it can be done, and we're happy to do it, we just have to cover our time cleaning the screens.
If you want a color change mid-run and you're printing 200 shirts and you would like 100 on black tees and 100 on white and need to change the ink color. There will be no color change charge.
The Flash.
Ink printed on black (or dark) shirts needs to be printed two or more times so the color of the shirt doesn't bleed through the printed design. To accomplish this we have to heat the print under a dryer to cure it allowing the second layer of ink to be screened over and adhere to the first. This can be labor-intensive, time-consuming and hot! A flash unit is a 220v 50amp 1000° heater, also called a Flash Dryer, it is located on the left side of our screen-printing employee as they stand at the press printing t-shirts. On the right side of our screen-printing employee, is another 220v 50amp heater, this one is equipped with a conveyor belt that they lay the printed and still wet t-shirts on to travel, via conveyor belt, under another set of 3 heaters to completely dry. This unit is 1000° as well.
Because we are located in Eastern Oregon and temperatures commonly reach over 100°
we won't print shirts that need to be flashed on days that reach 90°.
This can occasionally cause a delay with the 7-10 work-day turnaround, but it's a rare heatwave that does it. During a regular heatwave, we are happy to work nights to avoid ambulances.
One hospital visit was enough. The shop reaches over 130° and the employees revolt.
...Or faint.
We hope you understand.
